The Unrecognised Value of Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The rate of entrepreneurship in Australia is second in the world with one in every 10 Australian adults starting up their own business last year, and in current economic conditions, entrepreneurs are the key players in economic recovery and prosperity.

Yet, many of their efforts, passion and achievements go widely unrecognised in WA, and as Michael Malone (Managing Director of iiNet) once said, “It’s important to celebrate the huge achievements of entrepreneurs, whether it’s through government initiatives, awards programs or events where entrepreneurs can come together and share their successes, struggles and tips with one another.”

With this in mind, Via Appia Networking WA has launched the ‘Entrepreneurs and Innovators’ Awards and Event for 2012-2013: Recognising, celebrating and sharing the achievements of WA entrepreneurs and innovators.

We have three categories to award the achievements of three distinguished individuals: Curtin Growth Entrepreneur Award, iiNet Innovator Award, and a specialist category for entrepreneurs representing indigenous, female or young populations.

Those who nominate not only do their achievements get recognised, they will also receive free access to workshops and could share in a total prize pool valued at close to $50 000.

More information regarding the nominations can be found at Via Appia Networking WA website
